These little birds are just so sweet! Most days they flock in, usually in large numbers and chattering excitedly as they arrive. Some years ago when we first moved to Scott Road, I recall being told that that these birds are rare in urban gardens. This is clearly no longer the case, the RSPB garden bird survey reported the bird as being in the top ten in 2009 and another 32% increase in 2011. however, they were down 33% in 2012, and no longer in the top ten – one explanation is that the milder weather has kept them in fields. Will be interesting to see this years results.
