More snow

Must learn to believe in the weather forecast and then waking to scenes like this wouldn’t be such a shock! Pretty as it is, snowfall like this is so disruptive, not only to day to day life (have to use the bus as my car is rear wheel drive and just can’t cope with these conditions), but to the newly emerging buds and plants that are now covered in a very cold blanket!

Some of the shrubs were so heavily laden, that even when I’d brushed them off, the branches didn’t bounce back up – particularly a rather top heavy standard trained viburnum tinus ‘Eve Price’. There’s a lesson there though – I shouldn’t have let the top grow so big!

DSC_0948Can’t keep them all down though, these narcissus ‘tete a tete’ are making a robust appearance despite all!
