I just love the garden covered in snow, it’s so crisp and clean – for a day or so….but the poor birds have such a hard time finding food. Being an urban garden, we only see fieldfares when there is persistent cover and this year is no exception, the apples we’ve put out for blackbirds were clearly just the job
And Alfie of course – he never fails to put in an appearance and as soon as I melted some of the ice on the pond he flew in for a welcome drink. I recently read that it it is highly unlikely that a robin seen repeatedly in the garden is the same one. I just do not believe that – but of course I can’t actually prove it. Chris and the kids just humour me…
