Bees Alight

Today’s submission to the JanuaryLights# square photo challenge set by Becky at the Life of B, consisting of 3 pictures of bees alighting on flowers, could easily have been another delight, given that they all bring a smile to my face.

Firstly, a bee alights on dahlia ‘Honka Black’, the glow from whose heart sets its own petals alight. A truly beautiful flower, it’s not surprising that bees love it.

Tithonia ‘Torch’ has already featured in the JanuaryLights# challenge, but here it is again as a bee alights and covers itself in pollen!

My third and final picture today is of multiple bees alighting on a globe thistle. Seeing so many on this plant is not unusual, of all the flowers I have ever planted in the garden, echinops retro seems to be the bee favourite.

All this talk of flowers and bees – I’m so looking forward to summer!

Stunning macro photography, and you are right your alights get plenty of delight 🙂 I am also going to look out Honka Black for my mum. Think she’d love this one. And also good to know about echinops retro
